Jennifer Hudson's Classic Beauty

One of my favorite singers/actresses on her way up has got to be Jennifer Hudson. I thought she was absolutely beautiful when she was a plus-sized girl, and I think she's still stunning, after having lost some 50 pounds or so, and going from a size 16 dress size to a 6. While I might have my own issues with the fact that she chose to lose the weight immediately after giving birth, thus buying into the Hollywood Postpartum Race to be skinny the "fastest". I think that women have enough pressure on them to be thin. The last thing you need after having a baby is to be bombarded by images of how quickly JLo, Posh, Britney, Nicole and crew have dropped back down to a barely attainable size 0. But I digress...good for you Jennifer...I ain't mad at ya.

I chose Jennifer for today's blog entry, because quite simply, I rarely see a picture where she isn't looking fabulous. She reminds me of the starlets of yesteryear; of a time when beauty was about being beautiful and feminine, not garish and outlandish like some of the celebutants we see so much in the media. I love when a woman is in touch with her feminine side and embraces it as well as Jennifer does. Her makeup is always on point (and I'm not even going to TOUCH those paparazzi pics of her jogging sans makeup - puhleeeez...you wanna see me in the morning??) Her hairstyle is always evolving; whether she's wearing it short, or super long with a wig or extensions like those pictured here. Girl, is that Miss MyMy's 20' Malaysian straight you're wearing??? Jennifer Hudson, for epitomizing classic beauty, Miss MyMy gives you a well deserved and very rare 5 MyMy's out of 5!

Fijian Tight Curl Worn Straight

Natalie has been wearing a 24' tight curl Fijian for the past month or so, and I guess she was missing her straight hair. She was curious to try blowing out the tight curl, to see how it would come out, and here you can see her results. We apologize for the poor quality of the cell phone cam, but it was what we had on hand LOL.

I think this goes to show how versatile Miss MyMy hair can be. We only used Miss MyMy Hair Essence Serum to blow dry, and then flat ironed it. Remember though, as with your own curly hair, you don't want to do this too often, as excessive flat ironing can permanently alter the natural curly texture of your hair.

Fall 2010 FashionTrends Report

Dominating the runways for Fall 2010 is long, straight hair. Miss MyMy's personal favorite! I’m currently sporting a 30' medium curl, flat ironed bone straight.

Hair MUST have texture and movement! To achieve this look, start with clean, moisturized hair and finish with a light serum. We LOVE Miss MyMy's Hair Essence styling serum

http://www.missmymy.com/accessories.html Little effort, with lots of results!

Also a personal favourite of mine is deep red lips as seen on singer Sade. I prefer a bluish red like MAC's Russian Red. It's such a classic shade, and a must-have for your makeup bag. This look is being shown on the runways of Givenchy, Dolce & Gabbana and Donna Karan. The key to this look is pairing bold lips with minimal eye makeup.

Get In Tune With Your Inner Diva!

Some of the best ways to bring out your inner diva, other than hair, is to accessorize with a really great bag or a fabulous pair of shoes. Think of how stylish those celebs look in just jeans and a T-shirt. Why? Because they're usually seen carrying a large uuuber fabulous bag and wearing something totally enviable on their feet.

MyMy’s Favs:

Hermes: Fashionistas know a must-have from Hermes is the Kelly Relax bag. A more casual version of the original with a larger handle and roomier interior. This is part of Jean Paul Gaultier’s last fall collection so they will soon become a much sought-after collectible Get it if you can, while you can!

Louis Vuitton: The new speedy bag available sequined, draped in lace or fur…fun fun fun.

Make sure your footwear is current…don’t be seen without your wedges, shearling, fur and military inspired kicks like these: Anna Locking Tory Burch canvas and leather peep-toe booties, and the Christian Louboutin Toundra platform bootie in calf leather with coyote fur and double buckle straps. My FAVOURITE boot this season, however, HAS to be the combat boot inspired platformAlta Bouton, by Christian Louboutin. Something about that pyramid button-and-loop closure combined with that 5 and 3/4 inch heel (and signature red leather sole) just makes me warm all over!

Paris Hilton Sued for $35M for Wearing Someone Else's Fake Hair

FoxNews.com

August 12, 2010

Paris Hilton was sued Wednesday for allegedly wearing someone else's hair.

A company that manufactures hair extensions claimed the 29-year-old socialite breached her contract to wear and promote their product when she sported the fake locks of a competitor in 2008.

Hairtech International Inc. is seeking $35 million in damages — 10 times what she was apparently paid under the contract. The fraud and breach-of-contract suit cites the heiress' partying as contrary to Hairtech's marketing campaign.

The filing also claims Hilton missed a launch party for the hair extension line because she was serving a stint in jail in 2007. Hilton served 23 days in 2007 after she was caught driving twice on a suspended license while on probation for reckless driving.

The filing states the company's lost $6.6 million on the launch party alone, although a jury or judge will have to decide whether Hilton owes any money if the case goes to trial.

Phone and e-mail messages to Hilton's publicist Dawn Miller were not immediately returned Wednesday.

The case isn't the first time Hilton's role as a pitchwoman has gotten her sued.

The producers of the film "Pledge This!" sued Hilton in 2008 in federal court in Miami, claiming she didn't properly promote the film. A judge ruled last year that she didn't owe the roughly $8.3 million it cost to the make the film, which played in fewer than two dozen theaters.

The court is still deciding how much, if any, of Hilton's $1 million fee for "Pledge This!" she may have to return to filmmakers.

Why not have fun with your hair???

Maybe it's just me, but I was reading a blog recently that listed hair extensions as one of the beauty trends that should go away. Really??? What next? Coloring your hair? Being blond? Highlights? Oh, that's right, chunky highlights also made that list. While there were a few things on their list that I would agree with (Barbie-fication a'la Heidi Montag), extreme tanning, and french pedicures, cliche' tattoos in languages you don't know, and "tramp stamps", I have to draw the line when it comes to hair extensions. First of all, I'm in the business of hair, so it's no big surprise that I would take issue with the author of the blog hoping to banish hair extensions to the realm of passe'; however, I got into the business of hair for many different reasons, one of which is quite simply I think hair is fun. I feel that people take hair way too seriously. Why not change it up as often as you can? Kudos to Victoria Beckham for always keeping them guessing. It's all about having fun, and changing up your look. While I'm not too fond of the way her extensions are looking in the picture of her in the yellow (Miss MyMy would love to add a lot of volume and a bit more length), I do admire that she doesn't appear to be stuck on any one style; be it being blond, brunette, short hair, bob cut, or flowing locks. It's just hair! Why not have fun with it???
Posh Spice, for your versatility, Miss MyMy gives you 4 MyMy's . Feel free to call me, girl. I'll add that volume for you.
